COVID-19 Update for PRBC:
PRBC family we are reaching out to let you know at the present time we have three persons who have recently attended church to test positive for COVID-19. The exposure we believe is isolated to our music ministry and student ministry over the last week. We were made aware of this news since Sunday. As far as we know those who tested positive are at home in quarantine resting for the duration following CDC recommendations. We realize that there could be others in the days to come who test positive and we also realize there are those who may receive false positive results. Many people have been asking what the church will do in light of this news. First, we are cancelling VBS and kids camp in an abundance of caution due to the nature of those events. Also, you will notice some changes in the Sanctuary as we move forward. Every other row will be roped off forcing more social distancing. We will scale back with no choir until the end of Summer. We will be canceling Sunday School for the next two weeks at minimum in order to limit close person extended contact. There will be no children’s church and nursery for the next two weeks as well. We will continue with Wednesday nights because we have ability to distance properly. For Wednesdays until further notice the youth will be in the Sanctuary, children will be in the children’s building, and the adults in the fellowship hall. These spaces will allow for better social distancing. We will continue to offer online and in person services during both the 8:30 and 11am services. We hope by implementing these small changes we will not have to implement more drastic changes such as going back to online only. Many people have asked about wearing masks. Please feel free to wear a mask if you desire. At this time we are not considering making them mandatory due to certain medical complications that can arise from wearing a mask for a prolonged period of time. If you have concerns involving a mask we ask you consult your doctor. For further details contact the church office at 850-537-9221. We will offer updates as we have them and please note their could be other changes.
One final note- we will move forward with the Baccalaureate service as planned noting the social distance changes mentioned above. Our Baker Seniors have missed out on so much this year and we want to allow each of them and their families to make the call as whether to attend Baccalaureate. The sanctuary will be thoroughly cleaned and sanitized on Tuesday. Please know we are taking every precaution we can and ask each of you to take precautions as well especially utilizing our hand sanitizer stations, social distancing, masks, etc.
