These are truly some exciting days in the life of our church in spite of Covid-19. In spite of a global pandemic we have been blessed with salvations, baptisms, more new members, more new faces, and more spiritual growth within our church body. Not to mention, during this past church year God brought us a new Student pastor and a new Children’s pastor both of whom are doing an outstanding job leading in their respective ministries.
In 2014 the church broke ground on the new Worship center, and we asked our members and regular attenders to prayerfully consider how God would have them give in helping to pay for the much needed Worship center. To God be the glory the church came together during our capital campaign and people pledged to sacrificially give and I am pleased to tell you that you were faithful in that giving and we have not once had to dip into any general fund monies, or any other monies to make our mortgage payment.
With all of that said, there is still more work to be done and specifically there is still work to be done in order to pay off the building. Currently our loan balance stands at approximately __$1,032,945.00___. You may think that is a lot of money and you are correct it is, but with God it is not.
However, we as a church have set our sights on something larger. Our goal is to pay off the new building within the next three years through another capital campaign. During the last three years our membership has increased by nearly 100 people and many of our new members were not here when we launched the previous campaigns. So, in order to get the building paid off during the next three years we are launching a new campaign. This campaign we are calling VISION 2025 but make no mistake VISION 2025 is not just a building campaign.
VISION 2025 is a campaign and vision to reach our community and reach our world for Jesus. Within this vision we have set five goals to achieve by 2025. 1. Average 650 weekly in Sunday Worship. 2. Plant a satellite campus in Crestview. 3. Pay off our current building and make plans for a family life center. 4. Plant and build churches in Africa. 5. Have 300 people on average participating in weekly small groups.
In order to reach goal number three and see the building paid off in three years it will take all of us continuing to make sacrifices on top of our general fund giving. The previous capital campaign like the new campaign was not intended to replace our general fund giving because our general fund giving takes care of the day to day operations and provides money for our ministries such as children, youth, adults, senior adults and many others. The VISION 2025 Campaign is above and beyond giving.
Each member, regular attendee, and ministry parter will receive a letter and with the letter a pledge card that we ask you to pray over and see how God would have you give. Our goal is to have pledge cards returned by October 10th. You may ask what is the need for the pledge card. The pledge card serves two purposes; first, it allows the church to budget better, and second if the church were ever to refinance the loan the bank will require us to have formal pledge records to show repayment ability. As with any pledge we understand your circumstances may change during the pledge time period, but we are asking you to step out in faith and give to this important cause. As you have heard me say in the past it is not about equal giving, but equal sacrifice, and I am sure if we all do our part as members and regular attenders we will have no problem meeting our general fund expectations for next year as well as reaching all our VISION 2025 goals.
